Tourist routes - Hotel La Laguna

Tourist routes

The environment of Hotel La Laguna Spa & Golf is characterised by charming locations where there is also space to enjoy its culture and local festivals. There are three municipalities that flank La Laguna, each one of them with a unique character and a full calendar of tourist activities for all its visitors.

Guardamar del Segura

The exotic vegetation of its pine forest containing its dune area together with the beaches of fine golden sand that cover more than 11km, make Guardamar an idyllic setting. Its impressive dunes extend to the town of Santa Pola.

One of its most representative beaches is “El campo,” composed of native vegetation and virgin dunes that stand out. “Los viveros” beach, located closer to the centre, connects the urban centre of Guardamar with the mouth of the Segura river. And among them are several top-quality virgin beaches, such as the naturist beach “Els tossals.”

It preserves the essence of the classic Phoenician fishing villages. To this day, they still maintain its trade traditions both in agriculture -with the cultivation of the native ñora- and in fishing, in the port’s fish market. Being located so close to the sea, it has a great fishing tradition which has been the staple of this traditional coastal town.

Torrevieja

It is an active tourism city that offers fun for all ages and a broad cultural and leisure agenda. You can engage in activities such as visiting a water park or a horse riding centre. You will learn about the historical relationship this city has with the sea and salt through its museums, practice water sports, enjoy a boat ride along the coast of Torrevieja, and even travel to the beautiful and unique island of Tabarca. You will also find natural spots such as La Pinada de Torrelamata at the centre of Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja Natural Park. Additionally, you will get to know some of the many museums and exhibition halls: The floating museum on the “S-61 Delfín” submarine or the “Albatros III Patrol Boat” are some of the most iconic. In this tourist city, you will also find leisure time in its patron festivals, such as the May Fair, and the Habaneras Contest in its cultural agenda: The first was held in August 1955 and it has been celebrated internationally year after year ever since.

Orihuela Monumental

Iconic city flanked between the mountain, the Segura River, and its 16 km of coastline in which you will discover the history of this city through its cultural heritage with more than thirty churches and five National Monuments.

The “Santa Iglesia Catedral del Salvador and Santa María” – an old mosque with a square floor must be highlighted among its 32 churches. The “Colegio Diocesano Santo Domingo”, also known as “Colegio del Patriarca Loazes”, and nicknamed as “El Escorial de Levante”. A Historical Interest Site, and Historical Heritage of Spain in 1862. The “Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol”, a 15th century Catholic church where the closed grenade, symbol of the Catholic Monarchs before conquering Granada, can be found.

It is a city that holds a myriad of treasures, such as the work of Diego Silva Velázquez “The Temptation of Saint Thomas” in the magnificent Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art. You can find most of the heritage of this historic city in the old town: The house-museum of the poet “Miguel Hernández”, five national monuments, monasteries, convents, hermitages, palaces, mansions, and bourgeois houses. And at its summit, the “Cruz de la Muela” and remains of a Visigothic castle, which was the pride of the town. The summit of Teodomiro’s Kingdom capital, year 713.

Hotel La Laguna Spa & Golf is surrounded by nature, culture, and fun. It is close to three water parks, patron saint celebrations, sun and fresh air, and only one hour away from Terra Mítica theme park.
