An association of people with functional diversity
ALPE is an association founded in 1982 on the initiative of a group of parents of children with functional diversity in Torrevieja (Alicante). Its purpose was to find a place where both its children and any child who needed it could receive adequate attention.
The objectives of the association are to create centers and facilities for the development of Special Education and Occupational Therapy, where to assist the mentally and physically disabled, in addition to promoting and coordinating volunteering from flexible postulates that allow basic rules for development of its action in the fields of health, education, sports, the defense of the environment, the conservation of heritage, social care, cultural and civic revitalization or cooperation for development. And to have the resources and means to enable their effective exercise and promotion of civil society, avoiding establishing obstacles that hinder the development of their autonomy and capacity for initiative.
